It makes quick notes and view them quickly. Make notes/mark-ups/edits to the Evernote, and then later it will be synched to your Mac. You also can make and upload voice and audio notes, and share your notes with your friends on facebook and twitter. Use the controls in the Autodial tab to make modifications in your dialing preferences. These are explained below: In the International calls group box specify your own country code (for example, this will be 1 for U.S., 44 for U.K., and 90 for Turkey). Enter also the prefix (the carrier code) which is needed to make international calls. Do one of the following: To create a new page, click the Add Page button above the page tabs. (If you're using OneNote 2010, click the New Page button.). To create a new subpage, move the mouse pointer over a page tab, then click and drag the page tab to the right until the title is indented.

Autodial. Command

Purpose

The Autodial command is used to dial a phone number from the currentlyselected card.

To use this feature you need to have adialup modemconnected to your PC.

To dial a phone number

1. Position the insertion point somewhere in the number you wantto dial from the notes information area.
2. From the Card menu choose Autodial.. The Setupdialog box opens.
3. Use the controls in the Autodial tab to make modifications in yourdialing preferences. These are explained below:
   1. In the International calls group box specify your owncountry code (for example, this will be 1 for U.S., 44for U.K., and 90 for Turkey). Enter also the prefix (the carriercode) which is needed to make international calls.
   2. In the Long-distance calls group box specify your own area code(for example, this will be212, 332, 347, 646, 718, 917, or 929 for New York City;20 for London;212 or 216 for İstanbul). Enter also theprefix (the carrier code) which is needed to make long-distance calls.
   3. If you are behind a PBX, in the To access an outside line group boxenter the number(s) you need to dial in order to access an outside line (forexample, you can use 9w at work and nothing at home). For themeaning of special characters (like w) in a dial string, look at theAT command set of your modem.

   4. In the Modem group box specify the number of the Port towhich your modem is connected. For example, if your modem is connected to COM1or I/O Port A of your PC, specify 1. For COM2 or I/O Port B of your PC,specify 2. For USB, Bluetooth, or Infrared (IrDA) connections this maybe 3, 4, or a larger number (see below). For Dial type selectTone or Pulse. If you are not sure what to choose, just test withTone and if this does not work choose Pulse.

      All the above options are specific to a computer, so they are saved inuser configuration when you click OK.

   5. In the Characters in phone numbers group box you need to give yourpreferences about how you format phone numbers in your Notes File. The charactersTo be ignored (the default is only the space character) are charactersthat are embedded in phone numbers but have no other meaning except to improvereadability. The characters Used as separators (the default is parentheses)are characters delimiting country codes and area codes (if present) from thephone numbers. Examples are given below.

      Roster 1 2 1 – flexible name generator. The modifications you do in this group are saved in your notes filewhen you click OK.

4. The Original phone number is a string selected from your cardcontaining the phone number to be dialed including (possibly) the country andarea code. This string is selected as follows: Starting from the cursor positiona string including the numerals 0 to 9 plus the characters given above(Characters in phone numbers) is searched. This string must contain atleast three digits. If end of card is reached before locating such a string,the search starts from the top of the card.
5. The Number to be dialed is obtained after applying the rules detailedbelow. If you want, you can edit this number.
6. To dial that number click on the Dial! button. A message will bedisplayed. Pick up the phone and click OKonly after dialing is complete.

Phone numbers in your Personal Notes File can be saved in various formats:

NOTEFILE will try to match your country and area code and then removeunneeded parts. For example, assume that:

My country code: 90
Use dial prefix: 0
My area code: 212
Use dial prefix: 0
Characters to be ignored:
Characters used as separators: ()

In this case:

Here, 90 or 11 is the country code and111 or 212 is the area code in the original phonenumber; 555 1234 is the phone number; and 222/3are some extra numbers we want to be ignored. In this example, if you includethe dash (minus) character in the Characters to be ignored, then the phonenumber will include the 222 string also.

To find out which port your modem is connected

Windows

1. From Windows Start menu select Programs | Administrative Tools |Computer Management, then go to the Device Manager under SystemTools and click on Modems or just select Phone and Modem fromWindows Control Panel.
2. There should be an entry for your modem under Modems. Right clickon it and select Properties.
3. Go to the Modem tab and look at the port name at the top. This shouldbe something like COMx.
4. Enter the number x in the Port input boxof the Modem group box of NOTEFILE.

Linux

1. Open a Terminal and run the command dmesg | grep ttyS.
2. Files like ttySx should be listed. If there are more than one,you should make an educated guess or try each one.
3. Enter the number x in the Port input boxof the Modem group box of NOTEFILE.

Troubleshooting modem problems

Normally, you should hear the dialing sound from your modem and you shouldclick OK only after dialing is complete. Ancillary files stata help. If this does not happenand your modem does not dial the number, it is a good idea first to locateyour modem as described above andthen go to the Diagnostics tab andclick on the Query Modem. This may solve some initializationproblems you may have with your modem.

This registry setting allows you to add a new file extension and file type that is currently not not available in your windows system, and adds inside your right click 'New' context menu .
Many time we needs a file to store our personal data, notes, reminders, appointments etc. n which wants to identify easily in our system files.
By using this setting you can make your own file type n extension for your daily use :)

Settings:
(Dont use single or double quotes in complete setting)
1] Start > Run > regedit> hit Enter
2] Select HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT key.
3] Right Click>New >Key (add New key at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT)
4] Write your file extension like '.note' ( or any other which you want, but use dot '.' before extension, i used .note )
5] on right side pane double click on (Default) to modify '(Default)' value to file write as 'notefile'
(Do not use any spaces between file type value, you can use any other value too like myfile, mynotes so on.)
You just added file extension, now you need to set data for your file type.
6] Now go back to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT key.
7] Create New Key by right click
8] write 'notefile' as key name ( we used 'notefile' is file type for our extension, which is same as where we set step 5, if you used any other file type write this same value as your key name)
9] On right side pane, double click on '(Default)' n set description for your file Like 'My note file'

10] then right click in blank space at right side pane n add new DWORD value, write 'BrowserFlags' as name, double click on BrowserFlags to modify n set Hexadecimal value '8' (Eight)
11] add another new DWORD value, name it 'EditFlags' n set Hexadecimal value '0' (Zero)
12] Select 'notefile' > add new Key > write key name - 'DefaultIcon'
13] on right side pane double click on '(Default)' n write path of your icon file for your extension
like 'C:WINDOWSmyicon.ico'
14] Select notefile key, add new Key n name it 'shell'
15] Select shell Key, add new Key n name it 'Open'
16] Select Open key, add new key n name it 'command'

17] Now on right side pane select '(Default)', double click to modify, n now right the path of application for your file type, like 'C:WINDOWSnotepad.exe %1'
18] Now we want to add our file type inside right click New menu so go back at '.note' key

20] On right side pane, right click in blank space n add new String value, name it 'NullFile'
(Dont set any value for this Nullfile, leave blank)
